International Day of Action on Climate Change
On November 4, people across Aotearoa New Zealand joined with
the global community to campaign for meaningful government action
on Climate Change in the lead up to the UNFCCC conference in Nairobi
from November 6 – 17.
Wellington Climate Change Festival
Saturday 4 November 2006
As part of the Day of Action the Climate Defence Network hosted
an information day at the Paramount Theatre in Wellington. We
would like to thank everyone who donated time, resources, knowledge
and money to the first, of hopefully many, such events!
The day was a real success, with an estimated 2500 people walking
through the Paramount doors on the day, and many, many more given
information on the streets and talking to our volunteers at the
outside stall. The day raised over $1000 for the Sustainability
Trust to install insulation into low income housing in the
region.
